Accomplishments

Pictures speak a 1000 words and that’s exactly what the one above does ! Nritya Laya Darpan started out as a dance school but, in time, it branched out with several other avenues to explore and learn this traditional form of dance. It stands as the root for several offshoots that branch off for the benefit of not only its students, but also for all aspirants in this art form - Bharatanatyam. We look forward to bringing ventures that open up avenues for larger audiences through collaborations to unify like minded and passionate seekers. Here’s a sneak peek of our accomplishments in the year 2023.

Darpana Reflector Series

Nritya Sudharnava ~ Nectarine Ocean of Dance, was an in house vision that opened the doors for our school students who aspired to perform a mArgam, training and preparing them for a 40 minute showcase and presenting it to a closed audience. The maiden performance of the series was by NLD’s student Kum. Varsha Punati.
The launch of our offshoot venture Darpana Reflector Series gave us an opportunity to delve deeper into two important aspects of the art - in depth learning and performing.
The performance series ~ Kala Pradarshini and the educational program ~ Kala Vriddhi.
We are kick-starting a new series of in person concerts in 2024. We hope for this platform to serve as a medium for aspiring and budding artists to showcase their passion for any Indian classical art form. We encourage fellow dance & music schools and their students to utilize this space and join us to showcase the many upcoming talents. We also welcome accomplished artists to this platform, to perform, inspire and share their vast knowledge with the budding artists. Go to this page or visit www.darpanaseries.org for details.
